If that $1300 goes toward rent only, and you're cool with a studio, then you have many options. Just don't expect to see the 'hip' areas on the list. Think places like Bensonhurst or Marine Park in Brooklyn, Rego Park/ Jackson Heights in Queens, etc. You might even score a nice 1 bedroom for that price.
If you're talking $1300 for all living expenses, start looking for roommates.
You won't be able to live in Manhattan, but you can still find a place in a outer borough neighborhood that should offer a decent commute to Manhattan.
I have a coworker who is a native from Ohio and white and he lives in Briarwood Queens and his rent is only 1,200 a month. But again this part of Queens is very far from the city. If any one is looking for cheap rent be prepared for long commute times in and out of the cities core. I also know a guy who pays 1250 for a one and half bed room in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.
And having Little Caesars nearby will lower your cost of living.
If you mean hispanic and black people being the majority just say it.
Nothing wrong with this area at all actually and out quality of life thankfully is awesome. In case Yku haven't read my posts before. We travel the world 2 times a yr, eat out often at great places, catch many shows all yr round. Friends with our neighbors, in union square by 22mins and we get to save money while we only make around 80/90k a yr.
There's nothing much to do around here that my wife and I like but so what, who needs to have everything outside of there door when it's a few mins away. Sometimes my friends who pay triple what we do in flatiron come over and can't believe the size we have and the area is not what they thought lol. Guess whose gonna help find them a place around here soon
