Chuck Scarborough along with Ernie Anastos have to be some of the longest running gig NYC local news anchors around! *LOL*

It must be a male thing because the women get shunted off to morning or whatever programming but away from the 6PM anchor desk.

Isn't John Slattery one of the original partners on MAD MEN?

Yoi, seems the internet got the wrong end of the stick and consigned the ACTOR John Slattery to the great beyond.

The reporter died of a sudden heart attack.

Ernie Anastos still does the "news" at 6, but it's not really news. It's lifestyle and fluff pieces. The top story is something like an in studio interview with a parent sending a kid back to college. Maybe they are phasing Ernie out as he is doing news in name only.

Sad. He had a rather lengthy career, and was really one of the most underrated reporters. He was also on ABC back in the day. Seems as if CBS gets ABC's reporters and vice versa

It's a closed loop revolving door.
