wow, big new$$

there's no way this only costs $4B. By the time the unions are done with this project, it'll be 2025 and $7 billion later with a $49 departure "fee" for everyone using the airport

Couldnt they just shut down a fourth of it, and fix that up, then move on to the next fourth?

Not have a third airport is going to be a problem here in NYC.

I would suggest that LGA be preserved for flight education and museum purposes. The new LGA should be built in the neighboring Bronx to better the planning, and reduce the construction cost while promoting the economic development of the Bronx.
As a governor, Cuomo never surprises when it comes to shortsighted plannings.

Oh, but how will they build the "new structures 600 ft away" Is there any room for that?

Cuomo did the right thing keep LGA in Queens. An Airtrain is going to be built to the new airport and that will help with the development of Corona. As for the Bronx minimum wage and welfare New Yorkers have to live somewhere and it will likely always remain poor. I know the South Bronx is getting some businesses moving there because it is cheap, but please Harlem and Washington Heights are a long way from being gentrified.

The whites who move to these areas are students, recent graduates, gays, artists, and other somewhat marginalized whites.

They need to put a subway line to both JFK, Newark, and LGA.

Do they have room in the Bronx. I think they ought to build a new airport in Orange or Rockland counties to service NJ, and Westchester along with Rockland and Orange.

They will have the space to build whatever they want.

Great news! I usually only flew at LGA for the views and proximity to Manhattan.
