Getting back on topic....

This cabbie proves the point I made in another thread; all you weak ass some kind of "New Yorkers" going on about "ohh you can't *live* in NYC for $21k per year or so are just that, weak and soft. This guy just proved my point; if don't have the funds you learn how to run game and or hustle to get what you want.

Again there are plenty of persons living in NYC and that includes Manhattan on less than $25k per year. They just learn how to get what they need by whatever means possible.

Case in point there is an old man we used to see digging through UES Starbucks rubbish bags on Sunday nights for a New York Times. However as print edition sales have waned in favour of the Internet version NYT has reduced the number of papers printed with most Starbucks getting nil to none on Sunday. Thus there is nothing for this man to dig and find on Sunday nights. Does that stop him? No it does not.

He comes into the Starbucks near us around closing time and makes his way to the newspaper rack to see if there are any NYT. If so he begins to go through any remaining issues pulling out all the coupons, circulars and other sections he wants duplicates of to make one *super* Sunday NYT. At closing he just stuffs the paper into one of the old shopping bags he carries and walks out with his loot. Since have never seen him pay one assumes management is cool with this. .

Now this old man can barely walk, has lost most of his teeth and quite honestly isn't in the best physical shape. But yet every Sunday come rain or shine he makes his rounds to Starbucks all over the UES to get his NYT fix. It is 90F or so outside with high humidity, you'd think grandpa would stay home in the AC or some place cool, but he *will* get that NYT and whatever else he digs for in garbage bags.

I pity some of you should something happen and you find yourselves in restricted financial circumstances. Most of y'all probably wouldn't last a month.

Historically, many people have built their homes without depending on a "developer" to do it for them. And they built them to stay warm and dry...NOT in hopes of profit.

I would think political diversity might be the single thing the United States may have too much of today. Perhaps better called CLASS diversity?

(Yes Virginia, the U.S. is a society with classes.)
