6063 list ran several years longer than normal, that's the only reason they reached such high list numbers. Not normally the case.

time is not relevant.. the amount hired off 6063 is about the same hired off other lists.. the list last longer, but didnt not hire extra people in that time.. list was extended due to the hiring freeze

but i will say, i dont think this current list will reach what 6063 reached.. due to the increasing popularity of the job.. the amount of applicants for 5001 are evidence the jobs popularity is no longer a big secret

Completely irrelevant. We need to stop quoting old lists and giving people false hope. The last list lasted like seven years and before that you had DSNY hiring class after class when the economy wad booming and lotto hiring where they would hire into the 5 digits. Just like 6063 was the first hiring if its kind in regards to hiring process, the next list is going to be a completely new animal.

So with 20 something guys the list will probably get to around 420.
