The reality is very simple... The requirements were lowered to allow more women to pass, apparently the Fdny wasn't diverse enough..apparently it's sexist to think that a woman who can't pass the requirements not be admitted... Which is obviously ridiculous... Just ask the women who are FF who worked hard to pass the Physical requirements how it fees to have their work discounted...
The reality is that any member of a team needs to be able to physically perform all duties required of each position..not only for the safety of the public, and their coworkers, but for themselves...
No one wants to see any lives lost... And lowering the requirements to satisfy some magical "fair" number of woman in the dept will only lead to injuries and or death for innocent people, including the unfit candidates themselves, and the fact that people still defend these actions is literally insane to me.
