I dropped Geico (which yes, uses a third party) when they upped my rates, IMO, quite substantially. It went from 200something a year to 300something. They said the rates had increased across the board for everyone. So I dropped them and switched to State Farm. Anyway, 30K replacement policy shouldn't cost too much.

Thanks, but I've already tried Travelers and was shopping around for something different. And I had a friend tell me to stay away from State Farm at all costs.

I notice that none of you is recommending an actual person/broker/agent, as I'd hoped.

What happened with your friend using State Farm? Did she actually need to use it and have issues?
Mine is up in a month so I'm curious if she had issues using it.

I don't know my actual agents name. Sorry.

I found State Farm to be about half the cost of Allstate for the same coverage.
I have never had need to use my co-op owners insurance and I would drop it except my co-op demands it.

I consider mandatory insurance a rip off whether it be medical, auto, or home insurance. There is a good reason that every second ad on TV is for an insurance company.
