Has anyone tried the brunch here? I will be visiting in June. I wonder if it's worth checking out.

It most likely is. This is the hotel right next to the Plaza right. It has to be smashing. Now that you mention it, I gon have to try it.

Presumably you're talking about the JW Marriott Essex House. The onsite dining place is Southgate and there are much better options in the area for brunch. Marea, Norma's and Jean-Georges to name a few!

Yes that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for the advice.

I should add: Does anyone in NYC do a buffet brunch? I'm looking for quality, not quantity. I just like the diversity of a buffet brunch.

Maybe you will get some suggestions here, but another option is to search in Yelp and use the keywords brunch and buffet. Here's the search for those keywords in Midtown West (you can select other neighborhoods) and as you can see, there are many results.

Best Buffet brunch in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, NY

If it's the diversity and ambience you're after then maybe The View Restaurant & Lounge in the Marriott Marquis fits the bill. You're pretty much restricting yourself to the hotel restaurants if that's the case. The other place which has a great selection is the Waldorf Brunch but it is pricey.
