In my area of the Bronx - Castle Hill, Union port, - the tow trucks are always racing on local streets. For no reason, plus going thru red lights. DO you have this problem where you live ? These guys seem to think its their right to be jerks on the road.
It's unique to your neighborhood because you live at the intersection of The Cross Bronx Expressway,The Bruckner and The Hutch. They can hang out and race around your neighborhood while they are waiting for a call on one of those roadways and they can get onto any of them easily from there.

Its not just the Bronx, its everywhere. I'm not going to generalize all tow truck drivers but many of them drive like jerks! Speeding and running lights when its not an emergency. Since they work with the police I guess they feel they have special privileges to disobey traffic law. Maybe they do because I've never seen one pulled over and getting a ticket.
