Maybe 15 years ago, but the neighborhood has definitely changed. There are some 'ghetto'-er areas but I can count those on my hand. PLG is within walking distance of the Prospect Park entrance that is close to the carousel, the Prospect Park Zoo, and Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. I personally enjoy living in the area.
Google's boundaries put the eastern border at New York Avenue. I think that's wrong. I think the eastern border is Rogers Avenue. They have all the other boundaries right.

Oh you were only on Flatbush? Lol you really weren't on any "hood" blocks over there, Flatbush Ave really doesnt count
I was thinking, what exactly is hood about Flatbush Avenue? The awnings look a little tacky but you can say that about any non-gentrified NYC neighborhood.
A "ghetto", of course, is by definition a portion of a city where all the Jews are concentrated. There are few Jews in that neighborhood, so I would not use the word "ghetto" to describe it.
Or could it be that "jackswastedlife" has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA where the word "ghetto" came from, or what it might mean?
Some of the buildings on Flatbush Avenue in the Prospect Lefferts area do look somewhat ghetto. But, overall, the area is much, more livable compared to Brownsville, pre-MetroTech Fort Greene, and East New York.
