Good: Morton Williams at 23rd/2nd. Very sharp deli guys. Also, they have really nice yummy cooked shrimp. Also, nice fresh cooked bread from their own bakery. They also have those nice little pies for only 79 cents. And, sliced london broil. Good buy.
You can eat in at their cafe.
Fairway at 30th/2nd. Great chicken salad. Nice mini everything bagels. And they have bulk by weight nuts, jelly beans, etc. so you can buy just what you want, not a great big bag.
Both have good sharp deli people. Ask for a quarter pound and that's what you get, not half again more cause some idiot is on his phone.
Awful: the Food Emporium nr Union Square. I go in there once and ask for a couple of slices of roast beef; the ninny doesn't check the slicer, it's set to King Henry the Eighth setting and it comes to, like, 8 bucks. Another time I waited for ten minutes while this pair of birdbrains tried to figure out how to make a sandwich. A third time, I wanted some salt and the lady didn't know where it was.

If you're really worried about a job, why are you shopping in such expensive places? Walk down to Associated on East 14th. For that matter, why are you spending money on prepared food.
By the way, have you actually posted about a job here, a detailed post that might provide you with some advice?

It's not considered "prepared" if it isn't hot.
It's on the food stamp card. What I'd do for a nice steak, or bowl of hot soup.
Another 'No" on the job front. Keep applying. Agghhh.

He spends more time on here than he does looking for a job.

I come here after browsing craigslist for everything I could conceivably get. I just sent a resume to a water treatment company I found through LinkedIn.

No wonder. Craigslist probably has more scams posted than actual job listings.
