How strict are these rules? If I got this government job in NYC, it says I have to find a place in NYC to live within 90 days of getting the job. I live in Northern NJ right now a twenty minute commute to the city. I like where I live alright and yes, I would love to go live in the city, but as I live paycheck to paycheck at my current job. I fear I won't have enough saved up in time to meet the 90 day requirements. I mean, a government job in the city will give me a significant raise, and even then I'll barely make it. That's if I find a place I like in my budget nowhere higher than $2500 a month.

I mean if I can wait four to five months to save up more, I could manage that with a cushion.
