That's what I want to do next. I'd be the first new Yorker to actually put something in space.
Saw a drone hovering low at an intersection the other day. It was just cruising down the street and stopped to hover over the intersection for a good 10 mins. Flew right by my window.

Since escape velocity is about 25,000 mph, I think you might need an extra battery or two for a bit more boost.
