The mother of all questions to end all questions. Are escorts, and escort services legal in NYC.
NYC restricts many things like guns, smoking in public.
Obviously prostitution is not legal, yet I hear it is hard to prosecute.
My company owns buildings, and it turns out one of the tenants has been using the apartment as a place of ill-repute. The cops wont come because they said, it is hard to prove, they can always claim these are my friends coming to visit.
So of course escorts are basically using that excuse too.

If it isnt they should be, cause thats the only way NYC will be in the black. Sad, but we need to be East Coast Las Vegas.

Its legal to spend time with them if being paid. . However, It's illegal to pay for sex.
Why would escorting be illegal? That would mean imprisonment for chaperones of all stripes.
No, it's illegal if money and sex are exchanged. Why? Well, everyone needs money, and everyone needs sex. And the police need to make arrests.

Call one of those local news stations and see if you can convince them to do a story on the NYPD refusing to shut down a house of prostitution. Gather video evidence, I assume the neighbors can be enlisted in this endeavour. Actually, I bet just getting the neighbors to film the comings and goings of the Johns might be enough to put the kibosh on it.

Here in NYC NYPD busts indoor hoes and gays all the time. There is even a division within vice for "indoor prostitution".
It took LE a bit to realize where the trend was going as the Internet boomed in the 1990's as personal computer ownership levels took off, but they've pretty much caught up.
Feds working with local LE including NYPD have shut down major online "escort" services such as Rentboy.com and Exotics.com to name a few.
There are some escort ads that advertise fullfilling sexual fantasies. That has to be illegal then because it is advertising sex. But how are they doing this out in the open like that? Is it a secret police sting operation?
Yes in the alleged land of the free, it is illegal in NYC and most states. There are counties in Nevada near Las Vegas where it is legal I think. Apparently women can't do whatever they want with their own bodies - there are in fact restrictions. Unless there is a fetus living inside it and then they can. So there you have it - its not legal to pay for sex but it is legal to pay for someone to kill the sometime living result of sex.
It is the world's oldest profession for good reason.
Prohibition of prostitution is so very hypocritically Puritanical. It is ridiculous for the state to deny someone the right to sell his or her ass.
NY Brazen, guys or gals?
Amen to that. Though I myself would never pay someone to have sex with me.
Law enforcement should have higher priorities than that.
The way the Dutch handle it is good. The women are protected.
