Hi all, I was recently rejected for a housing lottery for not meeting the minimum income requirement after the last 6 paystubs calculation.

I am wondering if it is possible to work some overtime shifts for my next paystub that would help out the calculation if recalculated with the overtime pay (mathematically I calculated and it would meet the minimum requirement). Would this work when I appeal? Would the overtime somehow hurt me even though it will be for 1 week?

I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to try, to be honest. If you really want this, you should do everything possible to get it.
Good luck!

It depends if you will have enough time to show the new stubs before your appeal deadline date (I think it's something like 14 days the first time and 5 the 2nd time??? Not sure, never had to appeal). However, do realize that if they see OT on a check, they MAY use that for your estimated 2017 income. Also, they will ask for employment verification so whatever your regular pay is plus any bonuses and/or OT will be shown (if your boss decides to fill it out that way)

I agree with stormgal though, figure it out if you really want it and always show proof.

It's 10days for the first and 5days for the second. Am I guaranteed a second appeal if I get rejected for the 1st one? I definitely can prove I meet the requirement if I get the second appeal and send in the most recent stubs to HDP! with having to do very little overtime.

From my understanding (and others' experience), the 2nd appeal will go to the city if the agency denies it.

Shoot your shot and see how it goes
