Yea, and up along there are Sunset Park, Brighton Beach and Jackson Heights. If you include tourists which isn’t that much of a stretch if Williamsburg is in the running, then DUMBO too.
Brighton Beach is VERY far from Manhattan. You are talking about 60 minutes or so to get to Manhattan by subway.
And it is mostly Eastern European (of many varieties), for better or for worse.
Not sure if it has much appeal for non-Eastern European New Yorkers.
Mind you this was two years ago, 2015. When Broadway junction gets its makeover plus the L train shutdown, the J and A line becomes even more attractive for hipsters.
Crappy areas in the BX are going up to justify the ridiculous prices of the gentrifying areas in the city. Pushing people out more and more. I know a few people that couldn’t afford BK (even eny) anymore that moved to bx or long island. They coming for the Bronx next
I was surprised to see East New York. I live in one of the neighborhoods at the top of the list .
