We all pay for sex anyway, its called dating. Some people wont sleep with others until a certain amount has been spent on them. Some people like to buy new clothes, pay for dinners/shows, and car rides, hotels all in the hopes of getting laid.

I don’t know, bud. When I was single I’d be out at bars, meet girls and after hanging out for an hour or two just ask if they wanted to have sex. No drinks bought for them and they would often say yes.

You didn't marry them or date them. These were drunk and high girls. Yes, some intoxicated people will do anything.

However seeing someone long term and socializing is expensive. Even if you split the bill 50/50, you're still spending money in the course of the relationship. And that includes fun things you do together like going to the movies, eating out, traveling, etc.

many think of prostitutes as not paying for sex . you are really paying them to go home after the sex .

The government shutdown of Backpage is not just about prostitution per say. It's about human trafficking, the general lawlessness of the internet, and tie that in to the Russian fake ads/infilitration.

Facebook itself is now requiring political advertisers to verify their identities, and Facebook members with large followers will also have to verify their identities.

The new law passed by Congress makes it much easier for victims of human trafficking to sue internet companies.

Organized crime networks take people from poor countries and bring them to wealthy countries to work as prostitutes, drug dealers, and the like. So not only do you have prostitution, you have the crime of illegal immigration and with that you have certain other crimes as well.

The government doesn't care about an individual person trading sex for $$$$$$$.

Backpage allowed human traffickers/organized crime to be able to consistently get a good source of income.

Other internet companies will be cracked down on as well.

Just like it took them awhile to tax internet sales, and now you pay taxes when you buy stuff online.

Or just like Uber and Lyft are now regulated.

Maybe one day City Data users will have to verify their identities. Honestly most of the garbage online would disappear if people had to post under their VERIFIED real names...........

This is typical shortsighted thinking. This is just gonna push the truly sinister human trafficking and all that to the dark web and more of the lower level operators to the streets. This is a mistake.
