No way she will fix the subway. Just another ridiculous statement made by someone who has no chance of winning the election. Better focus on the weed as that's more important.

The weed is more important

The governor of NYS CAN fix the MTA if he/she throws their weight behind it, both in the legislative chambers and on the MTA board. The easiest start would be to put a lock box on transit funds. Cuomo, however, routinely raids MTA treasury to fund upstate pet projects, so that is never happening with Cuomo in power. The governor also has the power to order an independent audit of the MTA, which at one point Cuomo “seemed” interested in doing, but ended up neutering the commission instead. As governor, he also has the power to mandate that all MTA projects implement design-build policies only, which would save substantial costs off capital construction for the MTA. Most importantly though, the governor has to be willing to stand up to the powerful unions (both construction and transit.) Note, I am not saying that unions are inherently bad, but their purpose is to look after their union members, not what’s best for the state and transit riders. There are ridiculous work rules that need to be eliminated along with other serious union reforms, but unfortunately any talk of union reform seems to be equated to being anti-union and that has to change if we’re gonna fix the MTA.
To sum it all up, the Governor HAS the power to fix the MTA if they have the will to do it. I’m not expecting Cynthia Nixon to magically fix the MTA were she to win, but at least she’s showing a willingness to do so that Cuomo never has. If she could at least get the ball rolling in fixing the MTA, than that’s enough for my support.

How do you know she won't fix the subway? Someone had the vision to create the subway and ignore negative people who just complain and *****.
Both are important. You take the A train to work. Improving transportation improves your job options. I don't need to tell you weed ain't free.........
