Hey guys hope everyone is doing well.

I have been living in nyc for 10 years but for the first time I am looking to rent an apartment and not a room, and gosh this is hard. Looking for a one bedroom apt in bklyn or the queens for about $ 1,200.

I did everything: the nyc lottery, NYCHA ( Im not holding my breath for those two) but also rent.com, craiglist, real estate are soooo expensive and so many are not doing rentals anymore …………. SO NO LUCK.

Do you have any advice for me, where can I find a list of landlords ready for rent ?

Any advice are welcome

You can get a 1BR in Bath Beach for just a little more than that

Seems unrealistic at that price. Hard even for a studio, much less a 1BR.

As was already said, you might want to consider a roommate.

It'a really not that unrealistic. If he or she raises their budget by 100-200 dollars then there is plenty to work with.

But yeah, looks in the far Southern reaches of Brooklyn or The West Bronx.

The reason you can't find anything is your unrealistic price. Raise your rent budget.

The price for that criteria and location is nearly impossible.

Look into Mitchell Lama apartments with short waitlists. Spring Creek in ENY has 1bedrooms starting at just under $1200.
Also you could get a studio in South Ozone Park and Corona in your price range.
