I have been living in nyc for 10 years but for the first time I am looking to rent an apartment and not a room, and gosh this is hard. Looking for a one bedroom apt in bklyn or the queens for about $ 1,200.
I did everything: the nyc lottery, NYCHA ( Im not holding my breath for those two) but also rent.com, craiglist, real estate are soooo expensive and so many are not doing rentals anymore …………. SO NO LUCK.
Do you have any advice for me, where can I find a list of landlords ready for rent ?
Look into Mitchell Lama apartments with short waitlists. Spring Creek in ENY has 1bedrooms starting at just under $1200.
Also you could get a studio in South Ozone Park and Corona in your price range.
