No, that is P.S. 198 Isador E. Ida Straus.

Compare the two:

P.S. 6: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...lillie-d-blake

P.S. 198: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...r-e-ida-straus

One of the top rated middle schools in city is the East Side Middle School on E 91st street. And yes parents of means will send their kids there (if they can place), but again surprise, surprise the place is largely white: https://data.nysed.gov/enrollment.ph...d=800000048387

While P.S. 6 is zoned for the rich heart land of UES which is reflected in student demographics (over 70% white), P.S. 198 is only 12% white and mostly minority.

P.S. 6 along with some other UES public schools are in the crosshairs of Bill de Boob and that some kind of new chancellor to "improve" their diversity and "inclusion" *or else*.

You can use the above links to find test scores and other information/rankings for all New York public schools.

Good info, Bugsy.

Somewhere in the back if my mind, there is a factoid that the Strauss school is comprised of TWO schools, one highly desirable and one, not so much. Am I mistaken?
I remembered correctly:
Quote:
The school shares a building with PS 77, Lower Lab School, a district-wide gifted program. Within PS 198, each grade from K-5 has three classes: general education, gifted and talented (G&T), and Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT), which have two teachers and a mix of special needs and general education pupils. Macmanus says the relations between Lab and PS 198 are good, with many shared activities and a joint student council.

Ida and Isador (owned Macy's) Strauss went down with the Titanic. She refused to leave her husband's side. I understand perfectly <and more tears.>
