The supplementation in addition to regular pensions should be private ( coming out of dues ) and not taxpayer maintained.
I believe policemen ( beat cop ) deserve the extra pay for putting their lives on the line on a daily basis.
There are many private pensions in the black unlike many city pensions that are operating in the red.
Thank goodness for the underfunded liability. If all goes in the crapper you might just end up with half of what you're getting.
Some other city pensions are just pushing the envelope to far and will end up under serious scrutiny....

If the city doesn't want to uphold it's agreements, it shouldn't make them.

Rarely reported is how the VSF came to be. That part doesn't fit the anti-union agenda.
