Ho ho. You probably didn't write what you thought you were writing.
Lol.

We definitely need to secede from NYC. Should’ve happened a long time ago.

In this town more so then general special elections comes down to turnout, and yesterday's follows a trend; low numbers. But this is normal for such things and it means any eegit can win merely by grabbing a small share of overall electorate.

Good to see Eric Ulrich came in second place. That is saying something, and should give hope anyway. Hope the guy regroups and runs again.....

Is that no longer the rule?

This is a sp0ecial election just to fill the gap. There will be another election in November to cover the remaining 2 years of James' term, with a primary in June. A runoff will be needed for the primaries.

This election actually gave the GOP their best chance of winning citywide office as it was nonpartisan, though they only pulled in 20%.

Unless something changes JW will win the primaries and the election and I suspect there will not even be a need for a runoff as his strong win might scare off others.

Another career politician; I give up. New Yorkers deserve what they get from these elections.
This exactly what I was going to post. And the line of career politicians continues.

There are 17 candidates in the race and he had the strongest lead

I thought Williams was less loony than de Blasio. Maybe he would be a better mayor

Make no mistake Jumanne Williams will become mayor of NYC at some point. This will happen. There simply aren't enough republicans in NYC. If every living republican voted, and like 10% of democrats voted, in NYC republicans would still lose by a landslide (and Bloomberg don't count).

AOC, according to Yahoo, CNN, MSNBC and, HuffPost as apparently our only congressperson judgibg by the media coverage, will become the Democratic candidate in 2024. She may actually become president unless the silent majority shows up in even greater numbers to defend itself.
