283 Albany Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11213

I am interested in a place here in this area and other areas too of crown heights. But i am not too sure about the area. Does anyone know?

I am new to the city and want to be able to walk at night ( not late obviously ) but coming from work, school, if i need to go to the store or go out.

Thanks,

I think the neighborhood is called Flatlands or East Flatbush. Just google map around Brooklyn College and to the south of it. There may also be apartments within houses by there. It's safe and filled with families.

I work in crown heights and live near Brooklyn college. You would be safe in either area just use common sense. Don’t walk home alone drunk etc. The projects are right down the street on Albany ave for whatever it’s worth. Eastern parkway and Kingston ave, which is the closest subway stop, is the epicenter of Hasidic Jews in the area. I see groups of young Jewish girls and boys walking around at 2 in the morning sometimes so it’s a generally safe place. Brooklyn college is in Flatbush, close to midwood. Nice area if you can afford it. East Flatbush is east of nostrand ave. That whole area around Flatbush junction off the 2/5 train is decent and you would be fine.

2 blocks from Albany Houses is considered safe? Unless this area has changed a lot in recent years, I find that hard to believe.
