I just wish you'd lay out your opposite angle once and for all so I can understand what you're driving at.
I'm beside myself as to how many will sit here and discuss a problem and not discuss the way to solve it. Not one solution proposed. That's my angle. People just sitting down and complaining it's getting worse. And thats all they're doing! Is complaining! And putting down others! Not one person proposing solutions at all....

In 2019? Really? Hey if that's how you really feel. There were certain neighborhoods in the 1990s I would not be caught dead in. Now I feel like I can go anywhere in the city without a problem. That does not mean that I walk around unaware if my surroundings. But nowhere in NYC is a death wish as long as you're about your business. Think about all those teachers that work in the worst neighborhoods in the city, they don't have escorts. Plenty of people work and live all over this city and go about their business.

Well the obvious way to to combat this is to stop voting in “progressive” politicians who put forth pro-perp laws.

What do you want? Like, how large or small of an even tangentially related reform do you want? Legalize and control marijuana and sex work in sensible ways so at least that part of the funding mechanism for gangs is gone? Continue working on lowering lead levels throughout the city because of its harmful impacts on making rational choices such as understanding the personal ill affects of repeat criminal activities? Reform laws preventing those with severe mental health issues that are sociopathic from being free on the streets? Extend school hours and days of operation for public schools especially in rougher neighborhoods so there is more supervised time for kids to engage in more productive and ultimately economically more beneficial activities? Subsidize family planning and birth control programs to make it easier to stave off people having children who aren’t prepared to raise a family? Creating job programs that have some kind of ladder for those on public assistance to have some amount of work in order to make work part of a regular habit and more hirable in the private sector? Making education and work training as well as psychiatric help part of the prison system so it’s not only punitive, though required education itself can be punitive for some, but has a greater chance of reform?

I would simply like some new and innovative ideas to come to the table. Man can fix anything it creates.

NYC runs the planet. All of this stuff can get fixed! Sorry not sorry that's how I feel. It can get fixed.

I remember the Bronx in the 1980s - trust me if that can get fixed, anything can get fixed

You guys have no idea how it really was back in the day

If we can fix that, we can surely fix this

Ridiculous

I come from an era where witnessing robberies on the street was almost normal

Now I'm shocked if I hear of a robbery around my way. If that can get fixed then we can fix this. If it's really getting that bad.

i keep saying this over and over again

this is one thing i staunchly disagree with de blasio on

he and o neill should have REFORMED stop and frisk, went about it a different way

they should have INCREASED police patrols in ratchet neighborhoods

find all the known ratchets, and spawns of em, go full takedown, lock em ALL up

Stop n frisk = lazy police work

Of course if you keep digging in the soil sooner or later you know you gonna hit a rock
