Chinese-Americans are bidding up home prices all over Staten Island too. A plain 60-year old 1-family ranch-style house on my block was recently sold for $588k to a Chinese-American family. The new owner is gut renovating the house. Chinese-Americans are nice hard working people with solid middle-class values.
