Why is David Dellucci criticizing Joba for pumping his fist after striking him out? Doesn't Joba do this most of the time? Anyway, big Yankees fan here. I'm not sure how many games I'll be able to attend at the new stadium. The present stadium is quite expensive as it is now. As a result, I spent more time going to Shea to watch the Mets simply because it was so much cheaper to do so.
But to reach an AM station it seems far. I always thought it would be a stretch even getting a NY station in VA.
actually it's fairly common, when I lived in NY I would regularly get stations from the midwest like WOWO in Ft Wayne Indiana or CKLW in Windsor ontairo which is next to detroit. When I was a kid with nothing to do at night I'd play with the radio to see where I could get, I am sure it still is the same but AM radio now leaves a lot to be desired
I love 880. I'd almost rather listen to it than watch it on YES. I like John Sterling better than Michael Kay. On days I don't go to the game, I turn on the TV and put on on mute as I listen to it on the radio. The radio's a few seconds ahead but if someone hits a homer while I'm doing something I'll have a couple seconds to turn my head and watch it on TV.
You can sometimes get Montreal AM stations in NY at night. I think its like 900 AM, its all in french. So SC or FL doesn't seem impossible.
I really hate the bleachers though. The cheap tickets are fine, but sitting in the bleachers kills my back. I'd take a nose bleed seat anyday over the bleachers.
at night AM stations can travel long distances, sometimes known as frequency skip, there isn't much to do other than tuning the radio to 880 and see if the NY station is coming into to your area, I sometimes get it in Northern FLA
Thanks very much. I'm going to give that a shot!
