I've never been but... they seem to be making a big deal of it so, FYI.

On a lesser note, Applebees in midtown is open. Saw all these massive, huge balloons on the sidewalk and I was like, wtf? Anyway...they're back (whether you want them to be or not). And midtown is getting kind of lively now (not just Hell's Kitchen). See more & more office workers. Men & ladies in suits looking for a bite to eat. I hope September brings more of 'em. Local businesses need them. Time to get back to the swing of things. If delta is kept in check, that is.

Rudy’s Bar and Grill, an iconic Manhattan watering hole, is back open after it had to close for the first time in a century amid the pandemic.

“This is one of the classics," said Danny DePamphilis, the general manager of Rudy’s, while shaking up a whiskey sour behind the bar. "It's unbelievable. People are happy again."

His world was turned upside down when the Hell’s Kitchen bar closed in March of last year due to COVID-19.

Danny DePamphilis, the general manager of Rudy's, says the popular dive bar attracts many generations

DePamphilis waited for COVID restrictions to lift before reopening

The bar was one of the first places in New York State to get a liquor license after prohibition

Yes! Great bar. I went there on Tuesday evening. It was nice. Looks like they replaced the bar counter and repainted the walls. Everything else was exactly the same. You can still get a pint of beer for $4. They also have their OWN beer brand for $3 along with a free hotdog. I dont like it when some folks play that rap garbage on the jukebox though (just doesnt fit the old school image of the bar). I am very glad they reopened and did have my doubts that they ever would. Fyi, if you want a free hotdog with your drink, you need to ask for it. They dont automatically give it to you.
