Been dealing with a family of 6 above me in one bedroom for the past few years.recently they have been loud a** f** from 1am until 7am.kids playing with their basket balls and all.i've spoken to my landlord who doesnt give a f*.i've called 311 who sent out cops once who told me to tell my landlord & I've even spoken to the family themselves (last convo we had the woman opened her door with a knife in her hand).
any suggestions on how to handle the matter or have i done all that i can.

someone told me it is illegal to have that many people in a 1 bedroom is that true

The only realistic advice that I can think of is to keep being annoying. Constantly call the landlord to do something about it. Call the non-emergency police number constantly. Go up there and ask them to keep it down constantly. That last one, I'd bring a switch blade with me if I were you. Something will eventually have to give.

Go upstairs and fight them. Bang on the door and once one of them comes out you drag them out into the hallway and you beat the crap out of them.

Is there a clause in your lease that says anything about disturbing the peace? If so, you can bring that up with your landlord.

The whole Long Island along with NJ and CT exists because people want to avoid this problem.
With more third world nuclear scientists and scholars coming into this city I’d say you are in a bad spot.

I would call the cops and file a complaint any time your quality of life is disturbed.
Over and over and over again if need be. Document everything....

Give a copy to your landlord informing him you can not sleep and losing days of work.
Failure for providing a comfortable domicile may result in rental compensation.
File a claim that landlord is not living up to his agreement. Giver him at least 3 chances.
Show the judge document after document after document of your complaints.
It tells a story that you have informed your landlord and he did nothing to correct it.
In addition the landlord can use your complaints to kick the unruly tenant out as well
as you being compensated monetarily.

Best wishes.

Best wishes.
