saying that the shootings are down 30%, number of victims are down, number of homicides are down and that murder is down 54% since August 2021.

You probably might want to move to a safer neighborhood then? I have not seen anything this year, and I don't live in a super rice neighborhood either.
Elections are coming, that's why. Nothing is gonna save this city until enough people becoming victims and say enough is enough. The 90s was terrible so it resulted in Prosecutor Giuliani becoming the Mayor.
These folks aren’t buying the numbers either. Residents on a block in Greenwich Village is hiring private security. I never heard of this before in Manhattan (even in the bad old days).
The governor, the mayor, the media can keep on railing on how crime has dropped is dropping and is better than last year.
You never hear that Crime has returned to the safe levels ( under Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani ) of the 90's.
Once truthful reporting returns ........then and only then will I feel safe walking the streets of N.Y.C.

We never had millions and Millions of these illegal aliens here stealing jobs and stealing our futures. This used to be an American city. Today this is an Anti American city. Who cares about 50 years ago?
You cannot even compare the two eras. 50 years ago the city was purely American. Today we have been invaded. We are in a war right now in NYC and our entire country is being infiltrated.
