I'm straight as an arrow - 100% heterosexual, but asking this on behalf of a Finnish friend of mine who is gay:
Are there nowadays any gay bars or gay scene in South Bronx neighbourhoods such as Mott Haven, Melrose, Longwood, Hunts Point, Morrisania, Crotona Park East, West Farms and East Tremont?
The only gay bar in the Bronx is all the way to the North, in Woodlawn, in front of the cemetery, in a heavily Irish neighborhood that has more in common with neighboring South Yonkers than the rest of the borough and is enclaved and separated from the rest of the borough.
South Bronx people tend not to be big fans of anything LGBTQ.
Just for the record: I asked this question on behalf of a friend who is gay, who wants to see South Bronx and maybe drink a few shots of vodka in a gay bar. I already told him that it's not a good idea.
As for Longwood: I know it's one of the more safer areas of South Bronx compared to the other neighborhoods I listed. There's no projects in that area.

I know, but I know many people in South Bronx would leave this guy alone:
Interview Gaahl from Wardruna and Gorgoroth talks about being gay:

I tell him to take a cab and visit this bar and forget about the other hoods since there are no gay bars there, except maybe for southern Mott Haven.

and although I'm straight, I don't mind hanging out in gay bars with him. I just tell ppl I'm heterosexual and not interested in males, and guys hittin' on me leave me alone, and the prettiest girl I've met was at a gay bar in Helsinki, Finland.
I think you should be more careful before you issue such statements here on CD.
Just saying..
Oh right you know the area of Longwood so well...then how come you don't know there aren't bars there much less a gay bar
