EmpireCenter reported a net migration outflow of 299,577 in 2022 exceeded only by 314,153 in 1973.
This wiped out N.Y. largest population increase since the 2020 national census which if we all remember
was the basis for the recent congressional and legislative reapportionment.
NY. total population net decline of 218,000 accounted for 82 percent of the North East Region's
lost only followed by PA total net decline of roughly 13,000. No comparison.
N.Y.C. recipients on public assistance averages increased to 5,000 per month
to 356,350 for a total welfare Federal spending budget of 1.215 trillion 2019 to 2022.
My opinion:
Where is this money coming from? Those that work and those who have worked. That's where!
Contributing members of society are now being pressed for even more of their taxes.
It is costing more for people to work and live in N.Y.C.
It is costing more for retired people to live in N.Y.C.
Higher costs can lead to increased crime and if not kept
in check increased violence. Thanks Alvin.
I can walk down a supermarket aisle and watch free loaders practically throwing
their goods into a fully loaded shopping cart only to present an EBT card at counter
while I have to look for what is on sale and on discount after giving my blood
and sweat to this city in tax revenue for 40 years for a meager monthly stipend.
People are brazen enough to walk into stores ,stuff their pockets with food
and simply walk out without paying.
Who is paying for this? We are!
I always joked I have been feeding a family of 4 for 40 years that I don't even know.
I am not laughing anymore. I am packing my bags.
I will seek out a place that does not tolerate the non productive behavior
as this Democratic run city demonstrates.
I prefer to see my tax money repave streets, install bus stops, street lights and greenery
to increase quality of life rather than support a lower quality of life existence.
Many People......many contributing members of society.........not the affluent congress persons.....not welfare recipients........ are simply fed up.
