Lucky for Gen Z they have social media to cry and get some attention. How can she survive the 90s or early 2000s when people experienced the bigger recession and no social media to cry about.
Such a snowflake she is, NYC is not for the weak minded if you don't have family here. Once you make it here on your own you can make it anywhere.
All this goes to show that Biden's claim that unemployment is at historical lows is fake.
It's annoying but I actually think getting attention is probably the best thing to do when looking for a job, even if some of the attention is negative. She got almost a million comments on her IG post, probably someone will reach out and offer her a job
She went to PACE University - they get an A rating for diversity and a B- for academics . Maybe more experienced people are out there looking to. Her degree is in communications what ever that gets you - I'm thinking news media or advertising . Times are tough but they don't see that they are in this situation because of who they vote for. NYC is not the same NYC before covid - she needs to tough it out or move.
This lady has to keep pushing if she wants a gig. Plenty of morons in the executive suite of these companies. If they can figure it out, so can she. She has a college degree and it's called a smart phone not a dumb phone.
I worry for future generations and my own kids to be honest.
There is zero chance of owning a house unless you make 140 k minimum. Combined income of 300 is a must if you settle down with someone.
Starting out at 75 k might get you by if you are smart living with parents and saving money, but you better hope you can climb up the ladder quick.
It’s important to know what sort of work you will get later when entering a college.
Maybe in Manhattan. Out in the country, not even close.

Communications and acting, degrees that are a waste of money. I also don't think anyone ever taught her how to look for a job. I would think Pace would have a placement office that would help her.

You old heads were wrong about millennials and you'll continue to be wrong about Gen Z. Some of you old heads really take joy in watching young people struggle, it's pretty insane.

There is a big difference between choosing an employer you would like to work for and settling for anything just to get by.
With inflation through the roof, housing being sky high, I can’t imagine any kid being too excited about slaving for 50k a year.
My hat is off to anyone who figure out how to work from home and make very good money. F the whole 9-5 going to work every day.
