My husband and I are about to purchase a home in Sandy Hook Ct. We are both teachers in NYC on the upper east side. Can anyone tell me what the commute/traffic would be like on 84 and then 684? We would leave fairly early as we need to be on the upper east side by 730 the latest. Thanks
last time i took 84/684 was in 1989 but it was empty as i recall. that combo is at least 40 miles out of ny city so i would imagine that any congestion on 84/684 might be going into danbury on 84 and white plains on 684. traffic will thicken as you near the city depending on the route you take. the deegan is already congested up at 230th street at 6AM. one thing that may save you some time is you can pick up the harlem river drive where it begins at dyckman street by exiting the deegan at 230th street and going over the broadway bridge into manhattan so you don't have to be stuck on the deegan all the way down
