I find that the Bronx, in particular the Southern Bronx area, has become increasingly gay. There are places with gay nights (typically Thursdays), you will see trannies walking around on occasion, and there are more "DL" types than probably any other borough. And it seems to be getting gayer by the day.

North American Cities that blow away NYC's gay scene-

SF, LA, Chicago, Orlando, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Toronto, Vancouver, Portland.

Am I missing any?

NYC had its heyday for clubs before folks like Giulianni and Bloomberg shred it to poop.
For a city this size, things are pretty low key.

You'll have some mega circuit parties now and again- but those take place all over the world.
The newest night club on the scene is still only half the size of the larger ones in LA and DC.

It's great that things are open here till 4AM, but the cost of cover/drinks, lack of a younger crowd, and prevalence of lounges over clubs is def. not something a city like this should enjoy.

NYC Gay scene is definitely not "what it WAS."
The City is being sterilized with Duane Reades and Starbucks.

I think it is fair to say that the gay scene is alive and well here..plenty of bars, lounges, sports clubs, groups, outings, and other social events to serve the needs and desires of every gay person in NYC. However, the days of the drug-filled hypersex parties and club raves are no longer in NYC...and for good reason. If you want that...take yourself to Miami for all the drugs and anonymous group sex you like...NYC has serious social and health issues fueled largely by this behavior and as a result got rid of alot of it and we are better for it as a society.

There are still a few places to do this, but it is nothing like it was in the 90s and prior. And we should all be glad that's the case.

our only big circut parties are the "Alegria Events", they are few times during the course of the year.

They are mostly on Sunday nights when the holiday is on the Monday.
