It's all projects, buddy. Not particularly dangerous ones, but nevertheless.

Be wary of brokers, etc., who might be pushing certain areas with questionable issues as being part of the refurbished waterfront large scale development taking place in LIC.

If you wanna live in LIC, pick a different subway stop to live nearby.

Two cops were just shot in the Queensbridge train station today around 5:15. Four officers were doing "fare evasion" duty. A guy doesn't pay his fare, the officers try to place him under arrest. Two officers tackle the guy, the officer's gun gets loose, the guy then shoots at the cops after going up the escalator... though I think the cop that got shot was not the one who lost his gun.

Cops are ok (in the hospital) but I don't know about the shooter.

I'd like to point out that this isn't a common occurrence in this area.

Analytical, do you know the crime stats for queensbridge? I assumed it was pretty dangerous but I only know of it through music (nas, mobb deep, etc). I guess these dudes exaggerated? lol

I don't have the crime stats, but they didn't exaggerate at all. QB used to be a really bad place, now it's just a pretty normal hood. It's not particularly dangerous, as I've observed from being around there a lot (as a white male, since this matters to some); I've never been bothered.

I'll put it this way - those projects aren't the best place to take an evening stroll with your fine jewelry and evening wear if you live in LIC.
