  • Moved to Allentown, PA area in spring '08
  • I've used the Staten Island Ferry several times to enter NYC
  • Friends from MI are visiting soon.
  • They will fly into JFK
  • I plan on driving to the city my usual way (park at the ferry terminal) to meet up with them.
  • We will be staying for the weekend.
  • Overnight parking at the ferry?
  • If not, other suggestions?
Here is where it gets complicated:
  • All three friends may come back to PA with me to see new house.
  • They will need transportation back to JFK
  • Would like to point them to public transport (if you have ideas, please write of your experience with it-good, bad, too expensive, stinky!)
Thank you in advance for your thoughts, wisdom and time!

If you're trying to park at the ferry, you can just use the 7$ lots right next to it. I live in Staten Island, and work in midtown, and there have been plenty of times I've left my car parked for 36-48 hours without a problem.

Thanks for the info! Do you just pay for the two nights when you park (at the booth I mean)?

Your friends can take the bus into the Port Authority and take the A train to JFK.
