Dublin to NYC: worse time ever to move? (unemployed, live in)

I currently live in Ireland and I have 4 years experience in a blue chip bank in Operations. No MBA but excellent career progress.
Planning to move to NYC, not necessarily in Operations but quite likely within Financial Services. Considering the current climate and that I'd need a sponsored visa (EU citizen), what chances do I have to find a 200k job?

We have plenty of unemployed MBAs with decades of experience already here. Why import what you already have in great quantities?

Banks aren't even hiring Americans with MBAs right now, it's highly unlikely that they'd go to the trouble of sponsoring someone unless they have exceptional abilities. Try in a couple years once the economy improves and you should have a better shot.
