Staten Island I-278 Exits (Somers, Great Neck: to rent, safe neighborhood, place to live)

My girlfriend and I are planning to move to Staten Island.

I work in Somerset, NJ, and she works in Great Neck, Long Island.

It seems that Staten Island is a reasonable place to live if both of us want to keep the same jobs.

We would like to rent first.

We would like to find a place that has a quick access to I-278.

We would like to find a place in a safe neighborhood.

Any recommendation? Like, look at XXX neighborhood near ext XX?
