Lyceum Cinemas in Red Hook along Rt. 9. After an evening movie, have some ice cream at Holy Cow.

Upstate Films both in Woodstock and Rhinebeck.

I found the Upstate venue in Woodstock very uncomfortable. It's an old town hall (or maybe a church?, I can't recall), but whatever it used to be, it isn't a comfy place to view a movie, at all. Went once maybe three years ago, and never went back.
The cute Rhinebeck location on the other hand is a good place to sit back, eat some popcorn, enjoy a movie, and feel like you're in a theater. We used to go there frequently.

Perhaps the Woodstock branch is the epitome of a small town movie theater? And I won't be surprised if they are the only one showing indie films for miles around Woodstock.

There's are old movie theaters still open in Hamburg and Springville, I'm not sure of the names.
