Your comments lead me to believe that you expect your date to travel to you, ain't gonna happen. Single life is in the city, maybe Jersey City or White Plains but Rockland, nope.
No, I will drive, no issues with that. They say I'm too far. That's the issue at hand.
Rent it out and live in the city for a while? There was a guy I dated who had an apartment in the city (Dallas, not NY, but still) and land and a house out in the BOONIES. He was like would you want to live out there? NO! But later, I would have. I mean if we had gotten married.
If your goal is to settle down you will meet a women who will move out there with you.
I'm moving from London 39 single female and my industry is NY based; I'm so conflicted because of the impression I get about dating being difficult in NY. If I don't move soon I risk loosing my Green card.
I don't know how far Rockland is but surely there must be suitable marriage minded women within an hour's drive. If anyone says it's too far then obviously they're not for you.

There are more than 1.5 million people in the Westchester/Rockland/Orange/Putnam area, all of which is a reasonable drive to OPs house. Granted, most of them are married or Hasidic :-) but there must be divorcees, older professional singles, etc.
Go on a dating site and only look at profiles from the Bronx, northward through Poughkeepsie or so.
Nyack is a good dating spot with bars and restaurants if you don't want to go to the city.
