You had a chance for redemption, but you chose the status quo. Things are going according to plan. Let all the moderates and Republicans move to Florida and other states, which leaves the Democratic majority in place forever. I lived in NY for 66 years and I doubt I will ever set foot there again. More woke politics, high taxes, runaway crime and a petri dish for "progressive" experiments. Have fun NYS you voted for this, so enjoy the fruits of your labor.
i predict places like CA, NY, and NJ will just get bluer. that’s fine, people seem to love the people they elect. you have to move to where your voice is heard

People who don't want to live the way NY is being run are leaving. To me, it's a GOOD sign to see NY stay blue. It means that the good people are staying gone.

^This. There is a clear dichotomy in the US, and blue people will never see things the red way, and red people will never see things the blue way. Never. And neither group of people are leaving the US. No one will self-deport. So we will have strongholds in the US of blue areas, and red areas.
If you're unhappy politically, and don't fit in, your only choice at this point is to move to where your voice will be heard. There really is no other option. Red folks who leave blue areas will only make that area more concentrated blue.

The other bigger cities lean "blue" as well. It is more balanced, but they lean "blue".
I wasn't going to say much, but what people are overlooking is that everything doesn't start and end with the governor's race. As mentioned in the Politics thread, there are many Republicans that were elected on many other levels and that includes judges(something some people overlook in terms of the crime/bail issue) and even in CNY, where a carpetbagger from TX is likely to win over a native. So, given that "politics are local", there is actually more variety at different levels across the state and to put everything on the governor's race is being a bit short sighted.
