I am a 20 year old female, very soon to be 21, looking into schools for Massage Therapy to go to within the next year before I begin my years of traveling. I became interested in the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca. I was wondering if anyone has been to the Massage Program there and/or if the area surrounding is nice (Address 1251 Trumansburg Rd Ithaca NY). Where should I look for a room? Should I search all of Ithaca or a specific town? I want to be as close to the school as I can as it will be 9-5pm daily but I also want to be where other students my age are. How possible is it to live without a car, if at all? How is public transportation? Thanks so much!!
I have not attended the massage school there, but I know where it is located. I spend a lot of time in the Ithaca area. Because Cornell and Ithaca College are located in the area, there are plenty of students your age, and apts are plentiful. (Try craigslist.) There is a bus that goes all over the area, including the rural areas, so you should be fine there. As I recall, there is an apt complex across the road from the massage school, altho maybe someone more familiar with that part of town can chime in on this, as well as whether you could reasonably expect to live there without a car.
Thank you so much Carol, I really appreciate it! I'll look into the apartments.
