How many of you all still have your high school or college classmates as friends as friends of facebook?

I'm in my 50s--facebook has been an amazing way to reconnect with those folks. I spend real face time (rather than facebook time) with my current friends, but it's fun to catch up on the lives of old friends.

I have like 20 on mine I'm 28 years old, I really don't talk to anyone though. I know people who have just about every person we went to school with, I see no point in that.

I don't have facebook and when I did I had no one from my past as friends. I didn't like them in high school and I have serious doubts that I would like them as an adult.

since I now live thousands of miles from my hometown I love using FB as a means of keeping up with my friends from school. I still have friends from elementary school through high school and some of them even attended the same college as I.
It's a great way for me to know when they are sick, as quite a few of them have or did have cancer. I've lost a few friends the past couple of years due to illness. And it's a great way to know of the happiness and good things happening for them. And for them to know what's going on with me. I miss them so much and FB helps keep us close. Many of them call me weekly or I'll call them.
I've no complaints really about Facebook really.

I use FB primarily for old college and high school friends who do not live relatively near where I do. I also keep in touch with some far-flung family members. I minimize my use of FB because I rather have other forms of contacts with these old friends on occasion. I talk to some of them on the phone or even get an occasional visit if they are passing through my city on vacation.

My classmates have scattered to the four winds and I have relatives that now live in Europe, so FB has been a great way to stay in touch without all the hassle of Skype. (Not that Skype doesn't have it's own uses). I think it works better (?) for those of us 20+ years out of school. We've done things, gone places, had kids..... so now it's about catch up and checking in to see how life is settling, being able to be involved even if just peripherally in each other's lives while being so far away. Giving/getting advice now that we've got a few years experience under our belts.

I deleted facebook. Its a popularity contest full of shallow teens. The folk only cared about the popular people. There was this one girl who had 1000 friends who liked everything she did. She wasnt even that interesting to be honest and that is why I think facebook is rubbish.
As of now none of my classmates interest me they didnt exactly respect or cherish me.
