I suspect that most people dont want No gifts, they just want the gifts they want and not anything else.

My family used to be all into the gift giving thing, where everybody would get everyone a present, even extended family. Over the years, and as the family has distanced themselves from each other, this has become a less common trait. We still have an annual Christmas dinner and get together, but we only buy presents if we know someone really wants something. Or maybe for the children. I only give something if I know someone would really enjoy it and cherish it.

Personally, I do not give presents unless it is out of love. I usually give presents throughout the year, and only to close relatives and friends. I find it pointless to buy presents "just because".

It is funny you say it is pointless to buy presents "just because" I'm assuming just because it is Christmas or a birthdays.

We call our gifts of love 'just because" gifts. Just because I love you or just because I wanted to buy you something.
