After having pulled out of the parking lot at work and into one down the street, I am (at this very moment) trying to decide if I can will myself to go back into work after my break.

I am literally at my wit's end with the stupidity and/or lack of common sense in a building that is supposedly full of educated people. I simply can't ignore it today. Right now, I couldn't tell you how I do it every other day.

I am so highly frustrated that I am out of words already!

* shrugging *. Thanks for "listening".

I'm really sorry to hear that. I sympathize with that feeling of frustration with a coworker/office environment, the kind where you want to run out the door and drive until you run out of highway.

Hope the afternoon perks up or at least goes by quickly.

You can! a) You are not alone b) It has to do with the weekly donation aka pay check c) Picture them in long johns. That has helped me through quite a few meetings.

It helps if you like the actual job enough. If you can't stand the job, though, or if your workload gets too light, this can be hell. I have made the mistake of leaving jobs because of other people. I don't regret it in all instances, but I have done it one too many times and have paid the price.

There must be a "price" to pay for that in some industries. Perhaps most industries. I get that. However, it isn't universal; sometimes, the opposite: leave and go work somewhere else for more money, and most hiring authorities don't really count it against you. Doubt I'll ever be with any firm more than five years remainder of my career, a new-economy sort of thing. We'll see.

I've reached a point where I'll tolerate an unstable or draconian company, or senior manager, about a year / year and a half, then I'll walk after about a 3 month job search (average). Sometimes more, sometimes less. Life's too short.

But that's high tech: high turnover, indeed.

I went back to work after lunch. I was there all of maybe 20 minutes and found out that I wasn't kept in the loop about a particular issue. So, I got up and went outside for fresh air. I went back in, told the manager I needed to leave, and went home. I have been sleeping for 4 hours.

There are days - too many of them - when I wish I had an inflatable slide.

I applied for a really nice job last week and didn't get it. I also learned that at my current job, my review would normally give me a whopping 15 cent raise (just enough to buy an extra roll of TP), but there is a raise freeze on. LMAO

I have a friend tell me that it sounds like I had an anxiety attack. I really wouldn't know. I just know that it was more like a I-can't-take-this-stupid-$hit-anymore attack.

Based on your reaction, I'm not surprised they are keeping you out of the loop.

What do you do to help yourself cope with stress better?

THAT was up-lifting. Should I have stood there and bitched rather than extract myself and take a walk?

They kept me out of the loop with a pass word needed to do my JOB. So, then because I was using the old password, the system locked EVERYONE out. Yeah, THAT makes everyone's job better and easier - oh, and more efficient.

You sound like my hubby.

Do you work in IT? Lol.

Honestly, your story sounds like a typical job for lots of people.

Thanks for "listening" everyone.

I know that I'm not alone. That's why they it a job and why they don't call it fun.

I just want to work. I am just not interested in back-stabbing, drama, being irresponsible, etc., etc. That doesn't seem like too much to ask.

Again, thanks.
