Well, time of death isn't an exact science.

I thought there were cameras at our Costco, too, but I didn't see any. Maybe they're just really well hidden.

Parking lot cams probably wouldn't apply if there are any. I always park in the spot that's the furthest from the store. Doubt it's covered by a camera.

But beside all that, do you know anyone who would assume you were guilty?

I used to tell a joke.

"You know how it is with husbands...
You can't live with them...

and, you can't chop them into little pieces and use them for fish bait".

Well, after all of friends heard the joke, and all of my family heard the joke, and strangers at the grocery store heard the joke, and people at the post office heard the joke, and half my city heard me tell the joke I realized that if my husband ever ended up as fish bait I would be in BIG TROUBLE!

(BTW, nobody would actually believe that I had killed him).

Our alarm also keeps a log of all entrances and exits. So the time of death would be very easy to determine. Not to mention that we have cameras that record 30 seconds any time one of the entrances or exits is accessed.

That being said, there's always some evil person out there who really just wants to believe the worst in other people.

Basically, would anyone who knows me, or used to know me, or think/thought they knew me, think I was capable of murder.

Yes, I think so.

Of course, there are a lot of "it depends," in there. But, people have thought some of the things I've done were crazy or impulsive or even irrational, I suppose. I used to have a pretty hot temper and still can, if I get riled up enough. Nobody has ever seen me actually be violent. But, would some of them wonder if I did it and have doubts about my innocence. Yes, I think so.

They'd hope I did it, anyway, at least for the drama it may bring into their lives.

Obviously, the police are gonna haul you in for questioning. You can say that you were at Costco and they'll check the store's cameras to verify. But of course, their next question will be, "Who did you hire to do the killing?" You can bet that you'll spend hours undergoing a police grilling!

We do a lot of hiking in mountains and whenever we are on a narrow windy trail I have a fleeting thought if one of us fell the other would be so vulnerable to such accusations.

We buck that trend. We've managed to co-exist peacefully despite him taking early retirement at 55. He has his classic car hobby, I have my volunteer work, and we have his/her friends as well as couples. I think the problems arise when you spend 24/7 looking at one person. All of a sudden, quirks are magnified. I can see somebody with the tendency to do so snapping under those circumstances.
