Have you ever met folks like these? They come off as being a positive and only wanting to hear positive, happy things never wanting to hear any complaints from anyone. Then when they're drunk, they unload their troubles and complaints in their life. And still, not wanting to hear about your hardships and complaints about life. My sister is one of these people. I used to associate with those type of people that seem happy n positive all the time but deep on the inside theyre a sad sack of potatoes

Kinda like people who name themselves after something positive but usually have negative things to say.

??? Confused by your comment. When my friends vent to me about things going on in their life, I don't go telling them to suck it up buttercup and ignore them because its negative. That's mean. Yes, we all should try to live a positive life.

Actually it's not all that funny and may be an indicator of a more serious issue.

So who are you talking about? If you have a specific incident or person in mind, spit it out.

There are more than we realize who are laughing on the outside and crying on the inside.

No one wants to hear complaints. Not even your therapist.

Negativity drains the listener. No one is happy to see a complainer coming.

I suggest refraining from drinking with your sister. Encourage her to talk to you when you're both sober. But I think you're actually referring to yourself as a sad sack of potatoes.

Ex-friends..... One in particular, always tell me about her relationship troubles when she was drunk. Then when I told her about mine relationship troubles, she was like your problem, not mine. Then when I was having depression issues in the past, she said to my face, we don't like crazy people.

My sister would say I'm trying to be positive and act too busy to talk when I need to get something off my chest.

My sister in law snitched on me to my mom because I was complaining. She had complained to me in the past and never snitched

I don't drink with my sister. She drinks with her friends or my sister in law. I see where you're coming from. We all have ups and downs . If they're not doing anything about what is being complained about, then that's one thing to avoid them. Or if they seem to run on hard luck because of their life circumstances beyond their control.

When my friends complain, I listen because I have compassion. Sometimes, I just listen and not really say anything
