AGAIN, the demographics are NOT the point, it's the need to state they have a "black friend" that's the issue. Tokenism is not an admirable quality, nor does it make a person WOKE.
I think it's worth looking at in an overall sense, yes I do.
If you live in a pretty diverse place and all of your photos have all people of your same demographic, I think it's worth asking yourself if it's for a reason or maybe just chance.
Granted, OP stated it in a exaggerated way, and yes I would hope that they would never say that in real life. But it's still an anonymous forum.
For instance, if I were to ever seriously date a XXXXX woman, I might say on here "Wow, I'm dating a XXXXX woman. That happened."
And really, that would be my true feelings, because it is relatively rare for guys my race, maybe not as much anymore, but back before. I mean ... that's the way the world is.
But anyway, some people treat CD as an actual social marketplace and others use it to convey things they don't get to say in real life.
I'm kind of excited because I don't want to be friends with many people. I am in my 40s now and I have never had a black friend. I realize race doesn't make you like someone.
