Is it possible for someone to be offended by the choice of postage stamps you use on an envelope or package? For example, if one were to mail out a letter with an Alzheimer's stamp on it and someone in the recipients family was afflicted with it, would that unwittingly impose sorrow upon the recipient? Likewise, if one mailed a letter with a stamp of a politician or activist the recipient didn't agree with ideologically, would the recipient be offended and form a negative impression of the sender? Do you all mail letters with holiday themed postage to people you are unsure whether or not they celebrate the holiday?

I have a friend whose ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend had an issue with her using a Love stamp on a letter she wrote.

People can be offended by anything. I never think once about the type of postage I use when sending mail. If someone if offended by a stamp, they got bigger problems. On another note, you seem to make threads about some very trivial things. It's almost as if you have nothing better to do with your life. I fully expect you to get offended by what I just said.

Just get the generic USA flag stamps if you're concerned about this. Or something like Disney or animal stamps.

I've always been mindful of sending an appropriate stamp on an envelope. If it's just paying some random bill to a large corporation, I'll use whatever I have. If I'm sending a letter regarding a legal matter to a business or lawyer, etc., I'm not going to use a Mickey Mouse stamp.

I don't think so much about offending anyone with a certain themed stamp, for me it's more about the impression I want to present. A friend gets the Mickey Mouse, my lawyer gets the American Flag generic forever stamp.
