My older brother was born in 1984, so that makes him 35 also his headed for 40s, he has never been able to hold down a job, his my only sibling still living at home and NO he has no mental illnesses or problems in fact during his high school days he was a rather bright scholar never getting average below 70% on all his subjects unlike me who was always a 50% kinder girl hahaha ....

Anyways my point is life is life. People are people we cant all be the same some people just don't want to do a damn thing and a part of me understands that because we just cant all be the same that's life. Some people are happy to sit around and ride their parents backs until their parents die and when that happens they just simply look for a new target to ride on and suck dry. Its just life, It just is that way hence some people are referred to as vampires because they suck others (including family, friends, siblings etc.) dry emotionally, financially and physically as much as they can and just don't give a damn.

I was shocked just a week or so ago my brother was asking one of our relatives to let him use their phone to make a call to our dad just to ask him for money.....at age 35 still asking old, retired people who've done everything for you for money once again. That's just how some people are and trust me its no mental illness its just how some people are!

oh and my brother has 4 kids all of which are being taken care of by mom and dad (financially and emotionally)

PS; just posting this because I see a lot of posts here from distressed parents and friends who have these vampires in their lives and try blame everything from bad parenting, to mental illness to.... awgh I could go on forever, but I just truly believe that some people are slackers and that's just it, don't blame yourself these vampires come from all sorts of upbringings, social classes, countries etc its just how some people are!

People can only be "vampires" (by your definition) if others let them. Ive always thought the blame should lie on those who let people act this way, since they can't mooch without those who give them whatever they want.

agreed but when a person has that mooching mind-set don't you think they will just go and leech on someone else... not that im saying its ok to enable them but rather just saying some people are just like that no matter what!

If someone has their hand out. High 5 em! Or shake their hand. Or play rock paper scissors

We can't control what other people do. We can only avoid being a doormat ourselves.
